Hulse’s Potting Shed was established in April 1998 and is located in Center Moriches. From their origin, Owners David and Debbie Hulse have been dedicated to producing the highest quality plants on Long Island. Family owned and operated from the beginning, Hulse’s takes deep pride in the agricultural traditions that have existed in this location for over 80 years.

Origin story, Dave & Debbie hulse -

from the early age of 14, I started working working at the local flower shop, savage nursery (now hulse’s potting shed!), which was owned by my uncle, frank savage. as fate would have it, while working at the nursery i met a young woman, debbie, who would later become my wife!

although i had an early passion for horticulture, my interests took a turn and i decided to pursue the OPPORTUNITY for a career as a fire fighter for the city of New York. while I was in the fdny, debbie noticed that the nursery was for sale and we could’nt resist the idea of running it ourselves. 21 years (and two sons) later, we are still going strong, side-by-side, proudly keeping alive the traditions of the NURSERies at 45 bank street.
